Carey Price will not face the Senators tonight at the Bell Center

The Canadiens players held a court morning skating optional this morning, a few hours before receiving the visit of the Senators at the Bell Centre. Remember that the Canadian will leave for New Jersey tomorrow afternoon to face the Devils Thursday night. Saturday, the CH will be in Toronto, before returning to Montreal at the start of the night.

What do I remember from this morning training?

1. Carey Price once again practiced with the team… and he even allowed himself a few jokes with Cole Caufield.

Price, however, will not be in uniform tonight. Jake Allen will once again get the startwhereas Samuel Montembeault will be his substitute. I repeat myself, but I believe that Price will play his first game of the season next Monday night at the Bell Center (against the Jets). To be continued.

2. Jeff Petry participated in the practice. He had shaved off his beard and wore a contactless sweater. He won’t play tonight, but his season may not be over.

3. Alone Nick Suzuki, Paul Byron, Joel Armia, Joel Edmunson, David Savard and Christian Dvorak had taken theoption this morning.

4. Michael Pezzetta wore a regular jersey this morning. Did he get the green light from the doctors? May be? Will he play? No!

Petry, Lagesson, Clague, Perreault, Pitlick (T.), Pezzetta and Dauphin will be the Supplements tonight, so they worked overtime this morning.

5. Chris Wideman skated with the injured players. He should therefore once again give way to young Jordan Harris.

6. The Canadian’s line-up will therefore have this to seethere tonight:

Pitlick (R.) – Suzuki – Caufield

Edmundson Barron
Harris Savard

7. Brendan Gallagher will return to the lineup. Can’t wait to see what shape it will be in…

8. Only Jonathan Drouin (COVID-19 and wrist) and Shea Weber were not in Brossard this morning.

Justin Barron and Jordan Harris will therefore play their first game at the Bell Centre. We wish them good times. Note that Barron’s family is supposed to be in Montreal tonight.

BesidesI don’t think William Lagesson will play another game with the Canadiens.

With the loss of the Coyotes last night, a victory for the Canadiens could propel him to 30th place, ahead of the Kraken and the Coyotes. Will you want the team to win or lose tonight? An entertaining loss and a good show?

reminder : there are only 13 games left in the 2021-22 season for the Canadiens, including eight at the Bell Centre.
