Éric Duhaime will be a candidate in Chauveau

Sources confirmed to Radio-Canada on Monday the information previously reported by other media. Éric Duhaime should formalize his candidacy Tuesday evening, during a rally at the Paul-Émile-Beaulieu Community Center, in Quebec.

Also according to our information, former federal Conservative MP Josée Verner will chair Mr. Duhaime’s campaign.

A county of the Future Quebec Coalition

The riding of Chauveau, located in the Capitale-Nationale, is currently represented by Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ) MP Sylvain Lévesque.

Elected as head of Conservative Party of Quebec nearly a year ago, Éric Duhaime did not occupy a seat in the National Assembly. His political formation has a representative there: Claire Samson.

The latter joined the conservatives of Mr. Duhaime in June 2021, shortly after his exclusion from the caucus of the Future Quebec Coalition.
